Jody Wilson Brooks

"Ye Haw, Ya'll!!!" Being raised in Georgia couldn't stop this southern gal from being a cowgirl!

From the time Jody was a child, she dreamed of living the cowgirl's way of life. Jody's parents were accomplished riders, so she was practically raised on the back of a horse. Jody began showing horses at a young age and has continued throughout her adult life. She has excelled in showing horses in western riding, ranch horse competitions, reining, and reined cowhorse. She was elected as a board member to the Georgia Reined Cowhorse Association in 2006. Since moving to Arizona, Jody has enjoyed learning to rope and wants to add mounted shooting and competitive trail riding to her riding resume. Jody also enjoys collecting antique Will James' novels.

Jody began riding in rodeos when she was asked to co-manage a rodeo drill team in Georgia. Not only was this team a highlight at every rodeo, they went on to win awards in state drill team competitions and had the honor of performing the opening ceremonies to the Georgia Equestrian Special Olympics in 2004 and 2005.

Prior to moving to Arizona, Jody was a medical malpractice paralegal in a large law firm in Georgia where she had worked since 1995. She is married to J.W. Brooks. J.W. is a custom cowboy hat maker, western artist and country singer. J.W. has taught Jody the art of making a fine cowboy hat and Jody has started her own line of cowboy hats - just for cowgirls!

Without abandoning her southern roots, Jody finds the western way of life suits her just fine. She is honored to serve as an ambassador for western heritage. Jody is looking forward to the opportunities the Cowgirls Historical Foundation offers for volunteering and charity work, in addition to riding in rodeos and parades with a great group of ladies whom she's proud to call friends.
