Kay Miles

After years of seeing the word “horse” on top of every birthday and Christmas wish list, Kay’s parents moved the family to a horse property and bought her a beautiful little Quarter Horse mare. That was the beginning of a lifelong love of the animal and the western lifestyle. Periodically, throughout her life, as opportunities permitted, she has owned horses. Imagine her delight when her daughter discovered a passion for horses as well! Today, Kay endeavors to improve her own horsemanship skills and knowledge and enjoys a “partnership” with another Quarter Horse mare. When she’s not working, Kay enjoys planning meetings and otherwise helping out with the local 4H riding group, being a “Queen’s Mom” to her daughter who holds a rodeo queen title, and being a board member of the Cowgirls Historical Foundation. She has come to realize that our Western Heritage is a tremendous merging of cultures, rich in traditions, faiths and experiences and enjoys the opportunity to educate today’s youth and help them to appreciate our amazing Western history.
