Krysta (Holmes) Evans

Krysta (Holmes) Evans is a third generation Arizona native with a deep love for the beautiful Grand Canyon state. Her love of horses started at a young age as she spent her summers in the Rim Country riding with her grandparents. Considering both the Parada del Sol, and Payson Pro Rodeo as her hometown rodeos, Krysta never missed the action, but couldn’t help but long to be in the arena.

Krysta began taking riding lessons and studying to achieve her goal of being a rodeo queen. Krysta had the pleasure of representing the Lost Dutchman Days rodeo in 2013 as their Senior Teen Rodeo Queen. Atop her Palomino Mare “Ice”, she was able to travel the state promoting her rodeo and what she believes is the greatest sport on dirt. Immediately Krysta caught the “rodeo queen bug” and was eager to earn another title. In 2014, she ran for Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona, where she was awarded Horsemanship and First Runner Up. Following the pageant, Krysta began riding with Cowgirls Historical Foundation and has loved every moment of the preservation of western heritage and the stance of “Faith, Family, Freedom”. Krysta and her horse “Ice” also don’t mind the sparkles and rhinestones that come with CHF one bit. Riding and volunteering with Cowgirls Historical Foundation has been an incredible opportunity, she feels- it is humbling beyond words to saddle up next to so many outstanding, and admirable women.

Krysta is currently a Nursing student at Grand Canyon University, a degree she cannot wait to use to help others. Krysta has a passion for children, and will likely specialize in Pediatrics, or Labor and Delivery. After graduation, she plans to go back to school to get her Nurse Practitioner license and further her education in the Medical Field. In November of 2015, Krysta married her long time best friend Ryan Evans. Both grounded in their love for Christ, and family values, Krysta feels extremely blessed to have such an amazing man to spend the rest of her life with.
